Audition Announcement: Danza Orgánica 2025-2026 Seasons

Danza Orgánica is seeking dance artists with a strong foundation in Afro-diasporic, Indigenous, and/or contemporary techniques, alongside a commitment to social justice, cultural exchange, and community engagement. Alternatively, applicants with deep knowledge of their own cultural dance forms are encouraged to apply. Applicants must also have strong improvisational techniques. We are looking for creative, motivated, and collaborative individuals who are passionate about using dance as a pathway for liberation and storytelling.

About Us: Danza Orgánica is a Boston-based, BIPOC-led dance theater company dedicated to creating socially engaged art through performance, education, and community collaboration. We perform locally and internationally, with a repertoire rooted in African Diasporic, Indigenous, contemporary-modern movement, social themes, and decolonial practices.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong traditional cultural dance forms (ideally, applicant has a strong connection to their own cultural dance forms)

  • Strong contemporary modern technique.

  • Strong improvisational technique.

  • Ability to learn and embody Afro-diasporic forms.

  • Creative dancers with a disciplined and determined attitude.

  • A passion for collaborating on socially conscious, multidisciplinary projects.

  • A willingness to work within a horizontal leadership model and participate in community-engaged programming.

Details:

  • Contract starts in February 2025.

  • Paid rehearsals and performances.

  • Commitment required for the 2025/2026 Season.

How to Apply:

  1. Complete Audition Registration Form.

  2. You  will need to submit the following materials:

    • Full CV

    • Headshot photo

    • Dance action photo

  3. Wait for an invitation following the initial screening.

  4. Confirm your attendance no later than Friday January 10th at 5pm! Instructions to RSVP will be provided upon invitation to audition. 

Audition Details:

  • There is no fee to apply.

  • All applications are due by January 6th at 8pm for the company to review in a timely manner. Please note that the application form will close promptly at 8pm that evening, and will no longer accept submissions afterward.

  • Invitations to the audition will be sent out via email by the end of the day of January 8th to give invitees time to prepare for the audition.

  • If invited, please arrive at least at the audition 15-20 minutes prior to the start of the audition, and be prepared to begin the audition promptly at 5pm. The space will be open as early as 4pm if you would like to arrive earlier to warm up.

  • A more detailed agenda of the audition will be provided upon invitation.

  • Come prepared with a 1 minute solo to present as a part of your audition. This brief solo should showcase who you are as a dancer, artist and creative. 

  • Come prepared to participate in an improvisational practice as a part of your audition.
